How to run it at the shower

Print one copy of page 1 for each guest and one copy of page 2 for yourself. Hand them out with pens while people are settling in, or just before the gifts are opened.

Give everyone three to five minutes. When time is up, read the answers from the key and have guests mark their own sheet. Most correct answers wins; if two guests tie, the one who finished first takes the prize.

Which sheet to print

Sweet Baby is the easy one: BOTTLE, ONESIE, LULLABY and other everyday baby words, with the first letter on each line and a word bank. It works for a mixed crowd, kids included.

Baby Nursery is medium. The words come off the registry (BASSINET, HIGHCHAIR, NIGHTLIGHT), and the word bank is there for anyone who gets stuck.

New Parents is hard, with no hints: SONOGRAM, TRIMESTER, GODPARENT. Pick it if your guests are competitive. You can also print two levels and let guests choose.

Add the baby's name
