Free German Word Search Puzzles (Printable PDFs + Answer Keys)

Guten Tag! These two free German word searches are a gentle start for beginners. The first is everyday German: HALLO, GUTEN TAG, GUTEN MORGEN and GUTE NACHT (written GUTENACHT in the grid), DANKE and BITTE, NEIN, ENTSCHULDIGUNG (excuse me), WILLKOMMEN, and both ways to say goodbye, AUF WIEDERSEHEN and the casual TSCHUSS. FREUND (friend), HAUS (house), SCHULE (school) and HUND (dog) round it off.

The second sheet covers numbers, colors and food: EINS, ZWEI, DREI, VIER, FUNF and ZEHN, then ROT, BLAU, GELB, GRUN and SCHWARZ, plus a BREZEL, KASE (cheese), an APFEL and a WURST. Umlauts are left out of the grid, so FÜNF is FUNF, GRÜN is GRUN, KÄSE is KASE and TSCHÜSS is TSCHUSS. Say each word aloud as you find it.
