Download and print free kindness word searches: fifteen puzzles about being kind, from random acts of kindness and good manners to empathy, respect, honesty and standing up for others. Every puzzle is a free PDF with the answer key included, sized for standard printer paper and ready for a classroom, a counseling session or World Kindness Day.
Each grid is built around one part of kindness rather than a general list of nice words. The empathy puzzle hides COMPASSION, PERSPECTIVE and HEARTFELT. The anti-bullying puzzle runs from the UPSTANDER to SPEAKOUT and SAFESPACE. The manners puzzle covers PLEASE, THANKYOU and EXCUSEME, and the random kindness ideas puzzle is a list of small things anyone can do, from a COMPLIMENT to a GOODDEED.
For more puzzles about getting along with others, browse the home life word searches, which cover friendship, gratitude and family life.
From CHARITY to COMPASSION, 15 words are hiding in this grid.
Every Side of Kindness
The puzzles cover kindness as a set of habits children can practise: sharing and taking turns, listening, respect, honesty, empathy, gratitude and a positive attitude. There are puzzles for kindness beyond the classroom too, like volunteering and teamwork, and an anti-bullying puzzle built around the idea of being an upstander. The character traits, friendship and gratitude puzzles round out a social-emotional learning unit.
What’s in Every Puzzle
Each download is a two-page PDF: the puzzle grid on page one, the completed answer key on page two. Fifteen words per grid, hidden in every direction. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to install. Click a card and print the page.
How to Use These Kindness Word Searches
Use one to open a class discussion: after the puzzle, ask students to pick a word and describe a time they saw it happen. They work for morning meetings, character education lessons, Anti-Bullying Week, World Kindness Day in November and Random Acts of Kindness Day in February. The kids’ puzzle suits ages five and up; the respect, honesty and empathy puzzles suit older students.
