Most words are three to six letters long, and every one is a word a five-year-old uses every day, so children can sound it out and recognise it when they find it. The grids are smaller than our standard puzzles, with large letters that are easy to track with a finger. How to Use These Kindergarten Word Searches
Read each word aloud together before starting, then have children point to the first letter and look for it in the grid. Crayons work better than pencils for circling. Use one as a literacy center, a morning warm-up or a take-home sheet that matches this week’s theme, and check the answer key on page two when they’re done.
