In the United States, National Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day in SEPTEMBER, and a word search is something grandchildren and grandparents can do side by side. The first of these two free sheets is all family names: GRANDMA, GRANDPA, NANA, GRANNY and GRAMPS, the GRANDSON, GRANDDAUGHTER and GRANDCHILD, AUNT, UNCLE and COUSINS, the GENERATIONS on the FAMILY TREE, and plenty of LOVE and HUGS.
The second sheet is about time spent together: STORIES and the PHOTO ALBUM, BAKING COOKIES, GARDENING, FISHING, CARD GAMES and PUZZLES, KNITTING, a PICNIC, a VISIT or a LETTER, and the MEMORIES that come out of all of them. It also hides the FORGET ME NOT, the official flower of the day. The word list runs easy-to-medium and suits children from about 6 up, with a grown-up helping on the longer words. Each PDF has an answer key on page two. More in the celebrations word searches and the family word searches.
