Each month has its own grid built from what that month is known for: the new year and deep winter in January, groundhogs and valentines in February, harvest and hallowe’en in October, and the whole run of December holidays at the end of the year.
One for Every Month
Teachers tend to use these on a rolling basis — print the current month at the start of the week and leave a stack by the door. They also work as a simple way to teach the order and spelling of the months themselves, which is exactly the sort of thing that sticks better when a child has hunted the word down in a grid.
